HFIA has partnered with Jim Saris and Association Insurance Services to develop the business insurance program with HFIA members in mind. Jim is an active member on the Hartford Advisory Board in Chicago and is instrumental in identifying program improvements that benefit his customers.

HFIA has a business insurance program with the Hartford Companies and we believe it is going to become the standard desired by companies in this industry.  We have been working on this since 1998 and it focuses on the needs of independent business owners.  There is a difference between an “offering of insurance” and a “program.”  Most association and buying groups offer a service through an endorsed agency that will provide a source for quotes. A program on the other hand gives us a special classification with the insurance carrier. This classification enables us to build a unique opportunity for the industry class by  grouping businesses in mass ultimately creating buying volume which then gives us a greater voice to ask for more. 

An offering is simply running quotes with any insurance company available by a particular broker in an effort to write business. No buying volume accumulates, no greater voice is created and no additional benefits are available.

To take this offering to its highest level requires industry support. First, we believe the industry needs to understand the difference between what we are doing and what everybody has been claiming to do through their offerings.  This program is open to any business that wishes to become a member of the HFIA.  Our goal is save members on average 25% on their policies while improving their coverage.  With that kind of savings, the membership fee is a small consideration.
